Definition of Color

The term “colors” refers to a feature of an object that may be recognized or described in terms of hue, brightness, and saturation. The term “color” in physics particularly refers to electromagnetic radiation with varying wavelengths and intensities that can be observed with the naked eye.

The retina of the eyes receives light from the object through the color’s visual reflection. When light shines on an object, some colors bounce off of it and travel with the wavelength, allowing the eyes to determine the color based on the wavelength of light reflected off the object.
